These expositions provide middle and high school students with an informal, yet hands-on introduction to real-life applications and the fun of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The object being to get youth interested in science and technology.<\/h3>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/mohawkarc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/thumbnail-1.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;thumbnail (1)&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Jamboree on the Air<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amateur_radio_operator\">Amateur radio operators<\/a>\u00a0from all over the world participate with over 500,000 Scouts and Guides to teach them about radio, and to assist them in contacting their fellow Scouts and Guides by means of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amateur_radio\">amateur radio<\/a><span>,<\/span>\u00a0and since 2004, by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/VOIP\">VOIP<\/a>-based\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Echolink\">Echolink<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jamboree_on_the_Air#cite_note-autogenerated1-3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0as well. Echolink continues to gain popularity within the Ham Radio community, by allowing operators to access repeaters and links directly from an app on their cell phones. This provides the Scouts and Guides with a means of learning about fellow Scouts and Guides from around the world. Scouts and Guides are also encouraged to send paper or electronic confirmations known as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/QSL_cards\">QSL cards<\/a>&#8220;, or &#8220;eQSL when they are sent electronically. In recent years, a parallel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jamboree_on_the_Internet\">Jamboree on the Internet<\/a>\u00a0(JOTI) has developed. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boy_Scouts_of_America\">Boy Scouts of America<\/a>\u00a0recognizes this as an international Scouting event for Citizenship in the World\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Merit_badge_(Boy_Scouts_of_America)\">Merit Badge<\/a>.\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<strong>Amateur Radio Clubs in Schools<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>School Amateur Radio Clubs are a neat way to get in an extra shot of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) while exercising your on-air conversational skills and tuning up your enquiring minds. It will expand your horizons, build your confidence, harness your creativity and help you develop new skills. Each week there will be different activities to whet your appetite.
